“I love being home, so I have always enjoyed the fact that the design and feel of a home can create a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. That has evolved into creating a wide range of spaces where people want to be and where they feel comfortable.

When Michayla Wants to Relax

I love to read and be outside. Sitting with a cup of coffee and a book either outside or on the couch by a window with a view is one of my favorite ways to relax. Historical fiction is my favorite, so I will sit down and read anything in that category for hours. I also enjoy spending time with my family and dog, so any time I can be with them is relaxing. Outdoor activities such as walking, fishing, and kayaking are all ways I like to wind down.

Her First Job

One of my first jobs was working at the Dean’s Office of Humanities and Social Sciences at school. It was a really nice environment to be in and I enjoyed interacting with the other administrators and staff. I learned valuable phone skills when scheduling times for people to come in and meet with some of the Deans and also assisted students with various paperwork they needed help completing. There was also a lot of free food which was really nice for a college student.

Michayla's Favorite Music

I love country music! I grew up hearing it, and that is what I can be found listening to most of the time now. I really like the older country singers like Reba, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Hank Williams Jr. If it’s not country music, it’s 80’s hits!

Foods She Can't Live Without

My favorites are any kind of pastry or really anything sweet. So cookies, chocolate, pie; I love it all. I normally can’t say no when they are around. And pizza; I love pizza!

Her Signature Pieces

Earrings and some sort of scarf. I love wearing scarves because they are really comfortable and cozy and they can add an extra pop of color or help pull an outfit together.
